Last chance to catch The Drawing Exhibition at The Albany Gallery, Cardiff

I just wanted to show an example of the great drawing's some of my students had done in art class over the last 2 weeks. I gave them a photocopy of the head of the Pieta by MichelAngelo which they then squared up and drew out. As you can see they did a great job!! the drawings below show a selection, some finished, some still in progress. This excercise teaches you how not to be intimidated by subjects such as the face and draw it by simplifying the face into simple shapes and using negative spaces. They all thoroughly enjoyed drawing such a beautiful work of art and really captured the statue.

See my work in The Drawing Exhibition at The Albany Gallery in Cardff until Jan 28th. If you are interested in drawing have a look  there is something for everyone. I am passionate about drawing so it is great to be involved and to see the other artist's' work as well.

News Flash!!  Zoe was delighted that one of her Ballet paintings has been selected by The SAA, The Society for All Artists, for the cover of their September magazine, Paint, plus a full interview and more of her paintings inside. It is the largest art society in the world and she is thrilled to be picked. Zoe was thrilled it also came out at the same time as her solo exhibition from Sept 5th-23rd,  in The Arts Wing, Swansea Grand Theatre marking her second year as Artist in Residence of the Theatre.

Fantastic concert , their first show of a 39 date tour!! WOW! A footstomping mix of R&B, soul, rock jazz, country and blues. Special guest Mary Wilson of the Supremes was superb as was their regular singer Beverley Skeete. All the musicians put in virtuoso performances for one of the best nights I have enjoyed! It was great to be invited backstage to say hello, especially as both Bill and Terry have paintings of mine in their collection. Very charming (and very cool!) and was a lovely ending to a great night! I would definately recommend you go. for more tour dates see www.billwyman.com
